Our schools/students participate in our Positive Behavior Support (PBS) program to increase academic performance, increase safety, decrease problem behaviors and establish positive school outcomes. PBS is a researched-based positive intervention system that is used to create and support positive school culture by increasing positive behavior, social competence and academic performance. This year due to the COVID-19 virus and the students attending school from home, PBS is going to look a little different. For example, the iPad will be used to assist me with presenting to our students remotely from school or home. My students will begin the school year from home due to the high percentage of positive cases. With this iPad I will be able to effectively share my screen, share resources with the students and assist them with any help they may need while they are attending school from anywhere they may be. This item will assist me with being able to make Remote Learning a smooth transition for my students. With the help of items such as stress balls, pens, assorted color paper, our school will be able to create "care packages" to keep students motivated and for them to be able to put their "Virtual Tiger Bucks" to use! Items like phone poppers can be used to entice them with rewards because these are things they enjoy as middle school students. Our students are living through history and their lives are changing as we know it. Although they are very adjusted to a virtual world they still need tangible items that they can use to assist them. Our program will help reinforce a desired positive school culture by rewarding students who make better decisions. These supplies will help us motivate the students to reach for the stars and strive to be positive role models.
