Studies show that a child’s self-esteem suffers when they don’t have the same supplies as their peers. By ensuring that all children have the basics, parents can rest assured that the teacher cares about their child, will ensure that they are treated equitably, and children feel welcomed in their new classroom. Due to COVID restrictions, I have to supply my classroom with items that cannot be shared because I know not all of my families can afford the materials on the supply list. These Post-its, crayons, and pencils pouches will be used to help students feel welcomed in their new classroom and to provide some positive encouragement throughout the school year.
