Students will use the basketball goals to play a game called "Hooping for Goals". I will have students pair into two groups and they have to answer a comprehension question correctly. If they give the correct answer, they are allowed to take a shot. Each shot is worth two points. The team with the most points will win the game. This will be based on the number of questions being asked. We can use these basketball goals for motivation within education and exercise methods. Each student will be allowed to switch teams and change the point lines-for example, the free-throw line or make simple layups. This is a fun activity to use higher-thinking questions. Students are encouraged to unpack their passages and use context clues to help solve questions.
