My classroom does not include any windows to the outdoors. I would love to bring the "outdoors" in! Bringing in an aquaponics system into the classroom will allow my students to observe first hand living plants and animals. In addition, they can observe daily how organisms in a mini-ecosystem support each other. An aquaponics system in my classroom will inspire discussion, inquiry, imagination, writing, and a desire to care for the natural world. I have seen first hand how students, even (and especially) struggling students, come alive to learning when introduced to "wonder." Please help me to inspire my students!
