In my classroom, my students do a lot of research and analyzing texts. With a printer, they will be able to print their work without a worry of not having a printer at home or if they can get to the library after school. I strive to create an environment where my students feel like they have the resources they need to do their best work. The pens are a hit in my class and I use them as a reward for hard work! We use post-it notes for warm-ups and when we look at text. These are a great addition because the colors keep them entertained while dissecting different sources from history. The one motivator I have found to work consistently is music. I use music to keep their moods high and as a reward. To have an Amazon Echo in our room would make their year. As a first year teacher, I am trying to meet the needs of these special young students and I believe these materials will create an overall positive space for them to learn.
