A commonality across all nations, cultures and families is the use of music to connect, express and heal. These requested music technology materials will provide opportunities to my students that will impact them for a lifetime. Through collaborative music creation, my students that struggle with isolation will become part of a community. Through relevant music technology music recordings, my students with low self-esteem and self-worth, will learn a valuable skill set that will provide empowering employment opportunities. Through song writing, my students with depression, anxiety, and aggression, will find a healthy and productive communication avenue. "I would teach children music, physicas and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning." -Plato Our program is brand new. In August, I was given an empty classroom. By supplying my personal instruments and donations of our community, we are slowly gathering instruments and supplies. With these requested materials, my students will be able to capture the therapeutic moments they experience in their music making with recordings that they will be able to take with them anywhere! Isn't that the ultimate goal? Students taking what is learned in the classroom and sharing it with the world!
