These structural challenge kits will allow my students the opportunity to explore the world of designing with hands on materials within a team. They will improve their communication and teamwork skills. They will gain experience in exploration and engineering design. Students will be able to see first hand how mathematics and science are connected in the real world by challenging their minds and hands. Teams will use their knowledge of geometric shapes and load-bearing forces to create a structure that will hold the most weight. They will explore the strength, resilience, and function of geometric shapes, angles, and curves as structural components.
