Having a well-organized classroom is beneficial to student learning. When they know how to manage their materials and learn organizational skills, more time can be focused on targeted learning and academic instruction. Providing access to basic organizational materials and tools allows students to develop a routine and structure. A classroom mailbox, materials cart, and pocket chart will allow students to develop their organizational skills and follow a routine for managing their class assignments. Instruction will be provided on the use of the classroom materials. Students will sort and organize returned assignments for presentation to parents. The pocket chart will be utilized across the curriculum for direct instruction, student and teacher presentations, and opportunities for student choice sentence frames.
