My project will give students access to a safe space, where they are able to decompress. This wellness room will furnish students, who are not in programing, a place for reflection and allow them an opportunity to refocus. Often, my students' behavior affects the students around them. Having access to a separate, calming wellness room will give these students an opportunity to reconnect, then rejoin the classroom. Behavior issues are a common thread for all students in my classroom. Students would be ready to return to the general population, ready to learn. Because these students are now in control and ready to learn, all in the classroom can now benefit from the lesson being taught.
