Because of Mr. Terupt is more that just a realistic fiction book. It is a story that help the students be more aware of the needs of others. The reason for this is that each one of the characters has a unique personality and they can relate to them. I purchased one copy to read aloud and they loved it. They really want to have a copy to take home and read it. This project would make this a reality. Throughout reading, we are following the Common Core Standards, we are going to be able to analyze the characters. Also identify the point of view, the elements of the story, problem and solution, among other skills that are a key component for their academic success.
