These materials will allow me to turn off my fluorescent lights completely. Fluorescent lights might actually put stress on our bodies and lead to health problems including migraine headaches, sleep-pattern disruption, and cancer... so why are they in our schools? I can't get rid of them, but I can change the lighting options. Most children in my classroom have ADD or ADHD. This means everything in the classroom can be a distraction, but hopefully some dimmer lighting can also douse the distractions around my students. I'm hoping that the lights improve their moods and their focus abilities. It's worth a try.
