Every day we use Anchor charts to help us have a visual of what we are learning. We use them in all our subjects. We create charts from character traits vs. physical traits to adding vs. subtracting. Students are able to use these charts as a reference and they assist them with visual examples. They show vocabulary, equations, examples, directions for writing, clues for help, and much, much more! Our classroom is in a portable, which has very limited space to hang these charts. Having an anchor chart stand will be invaluable to allow students to have access to these charts for assistance whenever needed. We continue to build on each topic. I have to change the charts that are hanging for them to see. Therefore, charts that have previously been up for use have to come down or be covered and students are unable to use for assistance due to lack of room/space. As a class we organize our subjects by color. We all have the same color folders and notebooks for each subject. Students will be able to easily locate the subject they are looking for with the color of the hangers. Once I have hung the charts on the corresponding colored hangers, they can easily browse through to see which chart they are looking for to help with the activity they are completing.
