In fourth grade, readers are reaching the stage in their literary journey where they can read and understand complex stories. This is very exciting for students and it is a time that identities begin to form through literature and they begin to consider their own voice. My fourth graders this year have demonstrated that they love reading; I would love to give them some new and up-to-date books in our classroom library to match their enthusiasm. This selection of books includes characters that look like them, as well as some that don't so that they are reading about a broad range of experiences.
