This project will give my students the opportunity to learn and play new percussion instrument. To have the experience of performing in a school presentation in front of their teachers, peers and loved ones. They will experience what it is like to make the same rhythm with different instruments, create rhythms and read rhythms. They will develop the ability to play in groups and learn the behavior that is expected in a percussion ensemble. They will not only learn about playing percussion instruments, but they will also learn about how the instruments are made, where are they from and how to take care of them. Percussion instruments help students develop their motor skills. Drumming also helps with overall brain development by stimulating the left and right sides of the brain simultaneously. It also will help my students reduce stress and make learning music fun and exciting!
