Help my students gain a place for collaboration and unity. My students love being a family; and love to collaborate and listen to one another's thoughts and ideas. However, they have warm hearts and cold bottoms, yikes! Please help us continue to grow in first grade by having a warm area to express and persevere through academic learning. We would love to be able to create together, learn together, and have a spot where we can sit to do so. All students deserve to have a place where they can sit and enjoy learning together. My ESL students would benefit by having language growth through every subject discussed during peer turn and talks. For the other students in my class, they will benefit by becoming leaders within the classroom, by being able to accept boundaries and use their minds to outgrow them. My students are from very low income homes and would love to have a comforting rug to help them learn throughout their day, and create a spot where their learning and thinking is free to be expressed.
