Do you own a cell phone or a laptop? When you bought it, did you buy a protective case or screen protector? My school just went 1-to-1 with Chromebooks this year, and this technology is wonderful. The school even bought each student a padded carrying case for their Chromebook. Unfortunately, students need to take their Chromebooks out of these protective cocoons to actually be able to use them. That's where this project comes in. So far this year, 5 of my students have already dropped their Chromebooks and cracked the screens. It costs $50 to fix each screen. For that reason, I would like the funds to purchase a protective Chromebook case to further protect each student's Chromebook. Most of my students receive free lunch and come from low-income families. There is no extra money for luxuries like repairing a Chromebook or getting a case for one. This project will save the hardworking parents of my students from having to shell out $50 if their students accidentally drop their Chromebooks and crack the screens. In addition, students won't lose any class time running to the library to get a loaner Chromebook after theirs is broken. As you can see, it's cheaper to buy a protective case ($20) than to pay for a repair ($50). We need these protective cases. Thank you for supporting this project.
