Fourth graders are learning about interesting topics such as our moon, food chains, Earth's rocks and minerals, animal behaviors and adaptations, and states of matter. In order to study these topics, our students need current books on the topic and hands on materials to model and observe these natural phenomenon. These books and Science materials will engage students in hands on learning opportunities and get books in their hands that they will absolutely love to read! Our kids love hands on activities. We will use the owl pellets to dissect and explore different things they consume. We will be able to perform the streak test as well as the scratch test for hardness that will allow students to scientifically identify the minerals they find on their Gem Mining Experience. Additionally, the books about our Moon will give students opportunities to read about why the moon appears to change shape every month, why the moon, sun, and stars appear to move across the sky each day, and so much more! With your support, we can provide kids with these hands on learning opportunities and quality modern book selections for enrichment and learning!
