With these dictionaries, my students will be able to continue their research on their projects, regardless of whether or not it's our day to use computers. Much of the learning associated with an integrated science program requires more than the classroom textbook. By providing more access to content vocabulary, students will be more successful on a regular basis. Academic vocabulary is integral in understanding the relationships between concepts in science. With the new adoption of the NGSS standards, the national science standards, students are learning science in a new way. All science subjects are integrated into each year of learning, which provides a richer background of learning for students as they advance through the sciences. A classroom set of dictionaries will support this integrated learning in way that a textbook alone could not.
