Chromebooks will provide ALL students with a platform and resources with which to learn. In today’s age, computer literacy is an integral component of any student’s learning plan. By providing students with Chromebooks, they gain unprecedented access to global sources and information which are used for communicative and interpretive activities conducted in our classes. This access is critical in the world language classroom, as we utilize authentic resources from around the globe to expose students to the target culture. Students also use the Chromebooks to document and track their growth in their ePortfolios, which showcase their achievements year after year and are accessible to students throughout their world language journey in the district. Maintaining their digital portfolios encourages them to develop their global citizenship through reflection, recording themselves and tracking their progress. Students are able to Additionally, on days when Chromebooks are not being used by the whole class, the supplementary computers can be used to differentiate communicative and interpretive activities for struggling students.
