My classroom is compromised of a diverse group of students with special needs. Due to their learning disabilities, they require a variety of resources to help them overcome foundational gaps; a scientific calculator is one of those tools. Providing my students with scientific calculators will make it possible for them to overcome gaps in their foundational math skills. They will also allow them to execute more complex problems quickly and independently alongside their non-disabled peers. By being able to keep up with their non-disabled peers, my students will be given the opportunity to grow their confidence and be successful in a competitive world.
