My Arizona classroom hosts virtually every fifth grader enrolled in our district by virtue of the three sections of science classes I teach each week to about 80 students. I also get to teach about a third of them again in a Language Arts/Reading setting and a Work Place Skills class. These Monday through Thursday classes keep me jumping, but I live for the gifted enrichment classes I get to teach on Fridays to both 5th and 6th graders. Our state doesn't provide any funding for us to carry out our mission of appropriately serving our gifted and talented students with an enriched, opportunity and challenge-filled curriculum. There is so much I would like to expose them to and so much they have to offer!
