My students understand that technology has an enormous influence on the fashion industry. Much of the work associated with building and sustaining a brand is tech based. Fashion Technology equips students to pursue wide range of careers in areas of Garment Production, Quality Assurance, Garment Fit, Industrial Engineering, Product Development, Sourcing, Project Analysis, Production Planning, Entrepreneur Development, Human Resource Management, System Analysis, Software Application and Merchandising. Have you ever seen an outfit and wanted it in a different color or style that wasn’t available in the store? Or have you tried on an outfit and needed it hemmed to fit just right? This clothing project will teach the students the basics such as sewing a shirt or putting a zipper on a pair of pants. A more advanced lesson will teach students how to take a design of their choice and customize it for the perfect look, color and fit. So when their friends ask them where did you get that amazing outfit, they can say with pride, “I designed and constructed it myself”.
