In the words of my students, "If we go on this trip, it can help us because we can learn more about the ecosystem since none of us have been to the Chesapeake Bay. Also, we can learn about what we are doing to our environment and how we can help." My students have loved learning all about ecosystems during the first half of the year. They have become fluent in vocabulary pertaining to the unit. They have been particularly passionate about identifying the ways in which humans negatively impact our ecosystem, and what steps can be put in place to protect our natural resources.
