While recently studying the ecosystem, my students bemoaned the fact that we did not have any art supplies with which we could create sample ecosystems. My classroom is warm, friendly, bright and cheery, filled with wonderful, eager-to-learn students, but we have very few supplies. With the markers, pencils, glue, glue gun, glue sticks, scissors and dry erase markers, my students will be able to create projects all week long, allowing them to extend their learning and use their hands to manipulate the materials. Since many of my students struggle with traditional reading and writing experiences, these supplies will give them the perfect opportunity to showcase their understanding of topics and dazzle others with their artistic talents.
