The availability of graphing calculators for the students will enhance their math skills and better advance their understanding of concepts. For example, students can easily graph a linear equation like y = 2x + 6 and zoom out to clearly identify the y-intercept as (0,6) and that of the x-intercept as (-3,0). The option of not having calculators to use is disadvantageous to the students. It is my ardent hope that donors see not the cost of the project, but the benefit to the students, the school and the product with adequate skills that will be entering the world out there.
