Many of my students are struggling readers and/or do not speak English. Our library is in need of a makeover. We have bookshelves that are falling apart so we have relocated our books into bins on tables. Unfortunately, the books in our library are bit antiquated or not in the language students need. In order to promote reading and increase fluency, I want to create a reading corner complete with new books and furniture. Their new and improved library will not only meet their interests, but their needs as readers, as well. It will create a fun reading environment which will encourage more students to pick up a book and get carried away into the world of literature.
