This book will allow my students to explore different perspectives in the American Revolution. We will use this book, along with my social studies curriculum to study the reasons why the 13 colonies decided to declare independence and see how the colonists opinions differed on this decision. My students will use this historical fiction book to help them gain the background knowledge they will need as they act out characters from the story. History is hard for students to understand and relate to. This book will give my students an interactive point of view and help them personally relate to the events that happened. After a study of many different perspectives through my curriculum and this book my students will construct their own opinion and choose to either be a Loyalist or a Patriot.
