Research proves that art and music education in public school provides countless benefits for children of all ages. My kindergarteners would love to have access to: musical instruments so they can create their own music and explore rhythms and songs as we read and sing together, various building tools like Legos and magnetic blocks so they can imagine, design, and bring their creative constructions to life, and finally... art materials like clipboards, paint, markers, and colored pencils to make it possible for them to illustrate their original stories and also express themselves on paper through directed drawings, pinterest-inspired art projects, and more. My students do not receive any formal music or art classes and I believe incorporating these beautiful elements in our day would grow their motivation for learning, confidence, teamwork, innovation, problem solving skills, creativity and LOVE of school. I believe I owe it to my kindergarteners to integrate creative arts into our days and the materials requested in this grant would help make this dream a reality. Thank you for your support!
