Adding laptops to our everyday usage in our classroom learning will be advantageous in my ways. First, our students will have the ability to access a laptop to help work on academic programs within the classroom. Many times, students find themselves asking other teachers if they can use their computers to complete an accelerated reading test, work on IRead (a reading program), SuccessMaker and Xtramath (math programs), because our computers are already taken by a different classmate. We plan on using these laptops to incorporate Cal Ripkin's Sr Foundation's STEM Center to learn programming using the Makey Makey online application. We also plan on utilizing it to continue our learning on circuits. These laptops will be used for completing online research on child-appropriate websites for each students choice of topic several times this year. Not only will these laptops help us incorporate STEM within our classroom, but we have a real need for them in our daily learning.
