I am a reading specialist, and have taught in small groups until last year, when I started teaching a 3rd grade classroom. I have found that most of my students LOVE to read aloud. Any chance they get, they will volunteer to read. However, in a whole group classroom, it can be very hard to hear my readers. Please help me give my students a voice. My students love to read and hear their voices amplified in a microphone. Several of my shy students have even asked to participate when I am able to borrow the assembly mic and speakers. I am confident that this will encourage their love of reading, but also promote a lack of fear towards public speaking. These are both great skills that will aide in their success for the future.
