In today's technology driven world, the need for children to navigate computers, tablets, and other devices is a necessity. Many tests, starting in kindergarten, are now computer based. While learning to read using actual books is still a need, many struggling students learn better using technology. Reading is a life long skill, that starts as early as preschool! In our school we use a computer based program in which children "play" games that focus on pre-reading skills. These "games" gear towards each child's developmental and educational level, while learning. The goal of the program is for each child to have at least 15 minutes a day of uninterrupted individual learning. Without the availability of classroom technology this program isn't possible.
