A library isn't just for reading books anymore. It's a destination where children can explore, create, experiment, learn and grow. In order to be successful, children need the appropriate materials. Through dramatic play and expressive writing, children are able to reinvent the stories they read and hear. A puppet theater with multicultural puppets would allow students to retell stories using characters with which they can relate. This will make the stories and play more meaningful. A combination white board/felt board would allow the children to create felt board stories and act them out. The white board would allow them to write creatively and share it with the class. The items requested for this project are a strong start for multiple age students. They be able to express themselves as well as communicate more easily with their classmates.
