With manipulatives, students' understanding of difficult math concepts becomes much more concrete and real. The use of manipulatives helps students hone their mathematical thinking skills, connect ideas and integrate their knowledge so that they gain a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. The visual representation that these hands-on equations provide is huge. Hands-On Equations is a fun way to provide students with a concrete foundation for algebra. It uses the visual and kinesthetic instructional approach developed by Dr. Henry Borenson to demystify abstract algebraic concepts. Students will enjoy using the materials while developing a strong foundation for algebra which they will need to be successful now and in later years. The kit that I am requesting is a combination of a teacher demo set and 30 individual student sets. Students will be actively engaged in learning and should develop a fondness for learning higher-level mathematical concepts in a fun way.
