These books are designed to work together and each series of five books has a common theme. For example, the books read at the beginning of the year focus on friendships and belonging. These themes resonate with students' real-life experiences, and allows them to explore their own feelings through their writing about the book and sharing that writing with each other. Being able to connect to experiences through shared reading helps students connect with each other and produces a strong love of learning. Tapping into a child's intrinsic enthusiasm for learning is priceless. The results in academic achievement and self-confidence are incredibly powerful.
