All of my students - and several in particular - would benefit from additional support attending to instruction. Right now, our classroom furniture consists of standard desks and chairs. Students are welcome to move around the classroom and to choose their own seating during independent work; but again, they are sitting on chairs that are rigid and unyielding. I have provided my students with seat bands, but I believe that Hokki stools will be more effective in attaining the goal of accessing the content. The Hokki stools will benefit my students in each aspect of the instructional day, no matter the content area or type of work grouping. Students who use a stool will be able to move in a non-disruptive way while still remaining part of the instructional group. Furthermore, students will have the option of self-selecting a different type of seating, and I hope this moves them towards making choices that best support their learning needs. These stools will allow me to begin transforming my classroom into a more flexible and accommodating environment, which will ensure that my students have everything they need to be successful.
