Viewing artworks in color is so important to the engagement and understanding of my students. We currently do not have access to color printing so it has been difficult for students to connect to and understand the works of art being shown to them. Imagine looking at Picasso or Georgia O'Keeffe in black and white; where is the emotion and feeling without the color? By being able to see these works in color, students will understand how color theory is applied to art and how it can create a feeling or send a message. Not only will my students be able to view famous art works in color, I will be able to scan and print their personal artwork to help them create a portfolio as well as use color printed elements to enhance art projects.
