Students will be using the majority of the supplies when doing our Comprehension Standards Implementation Chart. This is a group activity where students are presented with a reading, and a question. The students will answer the question by creating an illustration of the answer, and a short written answer to go with it. They must also provide evidence to back up their answer from the text. The students will present their work to the entire class. Each person in the group of three will have a role. The reporter, the scribe, and the illustrator, By donating these items, students will have the supplies needed to an alternative way of doing classroom work. This activity is done three times a week, and each student will take turns in the roles, therefore ensuring they are always actively participating in a different capacity. The most important item on my list, pencils. Often kids do not even have this basic item. If they show up, I will provide the rest for them!
