Like many schools the track budget is not very big and athletes are forced to run in old worn down track shoes or find a means to buy their own. Our girls come from low social-economic homes and can't afford to purchase their own spikes. Arriving at meets ready to compete they end up being discouraged to run when they see their competition wearing track spikes suitable to compete in while they have tennis shoes or worn down spikes from many seasons ago. Now with the support of getting the girls new track spikes it will not only motivate them but it will encourage them to not give up despite their circumstances in life. Knowing they have people willing to support their dreams on and off the competition area goes along way changing many of these young ladies lives forever.
