I want students to be able to express themselves in the classroom, though it's going to have to look very different this year with desks being socially-distanced. Many of the resources allow students to share responses from their desk and contribute to discussion, including class sets of dry erase boards, markers, and erasers. These materials can be used in the classroom and at home. Since students can't physically work in small groups or be close to each other, I am going to have to build community in new and creative ways. As a young teacher, my lessons are heavily tech-based and highly engaging. I will empower them with technology, including the document camera, and other creative means of representation to share their work. I want to give as much space to students as possible, so I am downsizing from a large teacher desk to a smaller stand-up one. This downsizing will allow for accessible seating and room for students to have brain breaks next to their desks.
