The library is the central hub in our school and through coding students have learned this is a safe space to "fail". After taking a group of student's on a field trip that had a maker lab I noticed how engaged every single student was with the variety of activities available. K'nex where the shocking hit of the day. I want to add some low tech open ended toys to the creative options we already have in the library. I would like to have these materials available to empower students to make, create, and learn new skills as they design and redesign projects of their own design that will hone their critical thinking skills through play.
