My English Language Learners’ first language is Spanish. I want to instill a fondness for reading that will help them develop their English vocabulary skills and improve their reading comprehension. The scholastic books can be used to read individually or as a class read. These books and magazines will keep them engaged and active as learners. The students not only improve their comprehension but many writing prompts and possibilities are also available. Building well composed sentences is a crucial part of our learning. Using the structural contents of these novels and magazines will open opportunities to work cooperatively with each other on language arts projects. The Science magazines will enhance the learning and build upon the concepts that are being taught in the classroom.
