Hello I am requesting funds to help me attend Jen Jones' Hello Literacy Conference and bring back specific teaching strategies to help my students become more proficient readers and writers. I know that her hands-on activities will help my students as they navigate the challenges of being emergent readers. This is a K-2 specific conference which means that all of the learning will be geared right at my first graders. This conference will also help me gain knowledge in different ways to differentiate learning for my students. My wide range of learners will benefit from these differentiation strategies. I am a life-long learner and try to take every opportunity to better myself as an educator. Due to declining enrollment, my district does not have the funds to send teachers outside of district to attend professional development. I am hoping that this will be a great opportunity for me to come back and share all of the amazing learning that I gain through this conference with the other teachers in my district.
