I firmly believe reading is essential to enriching students’ learning, creativity, and imagination. Studies have shown reading 20 minutes a day makes a huge difference in students’ learning. Not only do they score higher on tests, but they also increase their level of comprehension, writing skills, and critical thinking skills. In addition, reading improves memory and increases overall knowledge. Not to mention, reading for pleasure is a stress reliever. A classroom library would give my students access to a world of possibilities! Furthermore, it would help foster my students’ love for reading and would help them grow as both students and young adults.
