I am thrilled to introduce flexible seating into my classroom! Having flexible seating options will allow my students a chance to choose which seating option they want to settle into during our class work time. Because students work best in different environments, the assortment of wobble stools, floor seats, and wobble cushions let them choose a space that will help them focus, release wiggles, calm their bodies, and enhance their learning. I am a second year teacher and have collected various, but limited, flexible seating options. I've implemented standing desks, stools, wobble stools, scoop chairs, and lap desks. I notice an improvement in focus, engagement, and enjoyment in my students learning when they use our current flexible seating choices. I would love to widen the options of flexible seating in our class, in order to give my students more of a choice in their education and to promote their learning and engagement. In addition to flexible seating, I am hope to expand our classroom library. Many of my students love to read chapter books, so I am hoping to acquire more books that reach their interest levels. I would also like to have a display book shelf in order to display monthly books, making it easier for students to find what they are looking for in our library.
