Thank you for learning more about my project for my class! Come take a trip into 6th with us for a day! Flashback to two weeks ago. Students have been studying the geography, history, and culture of the United States in social studies. They have worked hard to learn the details of each U.S. topic, so now comes the time where they can explore the U.S. on their own. I often tell my students, if I had all the money in the world I would take you to each place we study this year in World Geography - from the Grand Canyon, to the Incan, Mayan, and Aztec remains, to the Great Wall of China, to the heights of Mount Everest! To conclude our U.S. chapter, students got to select one of the 50 states to research and learn more about! They were given a brochure template, maps, and various creative supplies to complete this project. However, the time came for my students to become explorers and virtually travel to their state to find more information...but they were let down. Only five desktops were available to use in the classroom. The lack of technology is hindering the learning of my students because there is just simply not enough. Ultimately, if we were supported with these four new HP Chromebooks, we would use them on a daily basis to amplify our learning and become better equipped with the technological skills needed to be successful in today's day in age!
