In my few years of teaching, I've learned that the needs of students today are much different than they were when I was a young student. I see countless students coming in that need movement and non-traditional seating options than the traditional desk and chair option provided to them. I want to move towards a less traditional classroom, where students can learn and work in a flexible space that HELPS them learn and grow, whether than means having a ball chair instead of a traditional chair, a stool or lap desk or even a clip board on the ground. I want give them the tools to help them be in control of their own learning.
I also want to provide my students with quality headphones as some of their learning and assessments are done on their Chromebooks. Often I see students coming in with headphones that break easily or do not provide quality sound. By providing my students with their own personal set of quality headphones I know they will be able to access their online materials the same as every other student in our classroom.
