S-T-R-E-S-S: a six-letter word with a whole lot of meaning. With the growing amount of emphasis being placed on social-emotional learning, we are aware, more than ever, of how much stress our students are under. Not only are our students under stress from grades and school, but also with their peer relationships, extracurricular activities, family situations, and more. Now add anxiety, anger, trauma, ADD, and ADHD to the mix... can you imagine trying to solely focus on learning? Oftentimes when students are under a lot of stress it takes a profound effect on their academics and makes it difficult to manage their emotions in healthy and safe ways. These anxiety toys and materials will make an impact on EVERY student throughout our school... that's 756 students that you could be helping! We are continuously teaching students coping skills and various strategies in order to positively take control and regulate their emotions. With this project, our goal is to create stress-relief locations throughout our school that allow students to practice these strategies by utilizing the materials in order to take control of their minds and bodies all in a safe space. By working together, we can ALL make a difference for EACH and EVERY student!
