The materials that will make my classroom more flexible to meet the needs of all my students are portable lap desks and individual dry erase boards. The dry erase boards will allow them to work on their fine motor and communication skills. Several of my friends are working on handwriting and by using dry erase boards they can practice their writing and erase easily to fix any errors. The ability to quickly fix errors allows for greater interaction with the class. Flexible seating or portable lap desks will allow my students to comfortably and confidently do their work independently as well as in a small group. For my friends that are visually challenged, portable lap desks will allow them to sit on the floor closer to the board to do their work while not sacrificing their handwriting in the process. These lap desks will allow the students be able to interact and feel like part of the group. It will also allow for the option of independent reading throughout the classroom. I want to give my students every opportunity and any materials needed so they can be successful.
