Here at our school we strive for student growth, whether it is foundational or extensional. Our students are all Gifted and Talented, which means they learn in different ways. In order for them to be successful, and to truly strive for what makes them great, I feel that they would benefit from flexible seating options. Flexible seating allows students to have choice in how and where they will work best. Flexible seating is crucial for Gifted and Talented students because it allows them to extend into their creative minds to find deeper connections. In addition to creativity, it allows them to exceed through taking ownership and finding quality in their practice. Flexible seating provides voice and choice! Wobble chairs, stools, and other methods of flexible seating teaches students to find what works best for them as they reach the finish line. It allows them to feel that their learning experience is personal and has choice. We want our students to grasp foundational skills, but to truly take them to the next level. We want them to have real world experiences that create a craving for life-long learning. I truly believe that flexible seating will create an environment that is rewarding, nurturing, and exciting for all students. I know it will have a great impact on their learning, and for future students at the our school. In addition to flexible seating, I know that a subscription with Time 4 Kids will connect our students to the outside world in ways that are appropriate. Time 4 Kids will allow our students to find answers to real problems, mature into knowledgable citizens, and overall make greater connections. Time 4 Kids is a resources that showcases depth and complexity. It creates questioning, understanding, and interest.
