Giving students opportunities to not only hear but touch it, is one of the most effective strategies for learning to happen. Geometry can be tricky, but when you actually have opportunities to make it, then you don’t fake it rather you actually learn it! The shapes will allow students to actually touch what they are learning about. Makes learning exciting and gives them the “want to” to be able to learn it. The cards and dice will enforce multiplication which is essential in finding area and surface area and a skill that my students aren’t fluent it.... YET! The geometry manipulatives will bring learning area and surface area to life for them.
